A search-only agency with no social capability
OrganizationGOMO Group AB, a Nordic digital marketing agency
My roleGoogle Ads Analyst, pushing for change without a formal mandate
Timeframe2019–20
GOMO was a search-only agency with no social media capability. Clients ran Google and Meta as unconnected channels, if they ran Meta at all. I had seen at Sokrati how channels interact, and I pushed internally to fix this without a formal mandate and against skepticism about the investment.
Pilot first, then a service
- Pilot first. I ran Meta alongside Google for Dina Möbler, a Nordic furniture e-commerce retailer that had previously run brand campaigns only. Meta drove new traffic, improved Google’s conversion rate and lifted brand recall, measured with a YouTube brand-lift survey.
- Turned it into a service. The pilot worked, and the owner’s second business became the first client sold Meta as a formal, separate GOMO service. I built the audit framework and the playbook (account structure, audiences, bidding, creative and measurement), trained the team and ran workshops for senior management.
- Ran GOMO’s own acquisition. GOMO’s Sweden CEO selected me to build Google Ads as a pull-marketing channel for the headquarters in Sweden and Denmark, reporting directly to the CEO. HQ adopted my reporting approach as its internal standard.
GOMO added its first paid social service line
- Dina Möbler grew revenue 2.5x in 3 months at under 15% marketing cost.
- GOMO added its first paid social service line.
- Wider expansion stopped when COVID forced the company to consolidate.
A working pilot persuades faster than a proposal.
